water pollution explained in simple way

Every thing about Water pollution

What is water pollution ?

Water pollution is the pollution of bodies of water, such as lakes, rivers, seas, the oceans, as well as groundwater. Water pollution occurs when  pollutants reach this water bodies.

Water pollution is a serious environmental issue

We know that Water is a “Universal Solvent”  which simply means that it can dissolve almost any substance.

Water is the most important component found on the surface of the earth

Water is one of the most important substances on earth. All plants and animals must have water to survive. If there was no water there would be no life on earth

Apart from drinking it to survive, people have many other uses for water. These include:

* cooking

* washing their bodies

* washing clothes

* washing cooking and eating utensils; such as billies, saucepans, crockery and cutlery

* keeping houses and communities clean

* recreation; such as swimming pools

* keeping plants alive in gardens and parks

There are two types of water pollution

Groundwater pollution

Groundwater pollution occurs when harmful substances (pollutants) enter the groundwater. Unlike surface water pollution, groundwater pollution is harder to detect and control

surface water pollution

Surface water pollution is the pollution of aquatic systems that are above ground, such as streams, lakes and rivers. These waters become polluted when rainwater runoff carries pollutants into the water.

so remember its our duty to save water
